19+ Policy
A. 19+ only
Burnaby Casino is for adults aged 19 and older. No exceptions.
Only people aged 19 or older may sign up, deposit, play or join any offer, including the welcome package and Burnaby Rewards. We only open accounts where online gaming is legal, and we meet Canadian requirements on age, identity checks and anti-money laundering. Giving a false age is a serious breach of our Account Terms.
Our marketing is made for adults. Our advertising avoids characters, themes and placements intended to appeal to young people. We also never promote our games on channels aimed at minors.
B. If we find a minor on the site
The account is closed immediately and all play is voided.
If we find out, or have strong grounds to suspect, that an account holder is under 19, we act immediately:
- play ends straight away and the account is suspended
- we request proof of age, and if it is not provided or shows the person is a minor, the account is closed
- all bets are void and no winnings are paid out
- where the law allows, we return deposits to the original payment method
- bonuses, spins and Burnaby Rewards balances are cancelled
- the personal and payment information tied to the account is barred from any new registration
If an adult account holder allows a young person to use their account, that account is also closed. Where we suspect fraud, for example a minor using an adult's documents, we may share information with the relevant authorities.
C. Our age verification process
We check your age before you can make a first deposit, and run further checks if any details do not match.
To sign up, we need three details: your legal name, birth date and residential address. These are checked electronically against independent data sources, and deposits stay locked until the check is complete. If this method cannot confirm your age, we will request a valid passport or provincial driver's licence, plus a document that shows your address.
We also run a location check. We repeat age checks at withdrawal, and whenever account activity, payment details or documents suggest a problem. Age verification applies to every player, including those who join through our sign-up offer of 50 free spins.
D. Filtering tools and parental controls
A few simple settings on your devices and home network help keep children off gambling sites.
We recommend parents and carers use the tools already available to them:
- Device controls: the parental settings built into computer, phone and tablet operating systems can block gambling sites and app downloads.
- Filtering software: dedicated filtering programs can block whole categories of websites, including online casinos, across every browser.
- Router filters: family filters covering every device on the network are available from many internet providers and home routers.
- App store restrictions: age limits in app stores stop young users installing gambling apps.
- Payment controls: keep cards, MuchBetter e-wallets and Flexepin vouchers out of reach, and turn on purchase approvals where your bank offers them.
These tools are most effective when paired with honest discussions with young people about gambling and the risks involved.
E. Shared devices and protecting minors
On a family computer, tablet or phone, a few habits make a real difference.
Devices used by several people in a household need extra care. We suggest you:
- log out of Burnaby Casino at the end of every session
- do not allow your browser to remember your password or autofill your login details
- when the device is not in use, lock it with a PIN, password or fingerprint
- create separate user profiles so children log in with their own restricted access
- avoid playing where a child can watch or join in
- look over your account history often and let us know straight away about any activity you do not recognise
Never share your password: every action taken on your account is your responsibility. Full account security details are in our Account Terms.
